Normally I don't do a news item just for a new software release for the Yakuza USB OLED boards, but this one is fairly significant, and is the result of player input. Ask and ye shall receive....The July 1, 2009 firmware update includes new select fire functionality. It is handled by the addition of two new fire mode settings, which, in combination with the primary fire mode, allow you to create a customized set of fire modes which can be quickly and easily accessed during play. Any of the available fire modes can be selected for the three slots, and then a quick press of a button or flick of a scroll wheel cycles through them.Another change is to the Millennium fire mode to provide more flexibility. The reset time after ramping, but before the semi-automatic shots begin again, is not documented in the Millennium rules, so I have decreased the minimum value of the PSP/Millennium reset time setting to avoid any problems with picky judges. The ramp start setting is also no longer restricted to 6 pulls per second and up.Lastly, many scenario and recreational players did not like the safety style full-automatic fire mode. The single semi-automatic shot has been removed, making it a true full-automatic fire mode.More changes are available, as this update also rolls all previous updates into it, which help increase battery life, reliability, menu response, and overall marker performance. Full details can be found in the changelog.txt, and all the firmware files plus the latest version of Tengu can be downloaded on the Tengu page.
